Hourly to Salary Calculator
Converting an hourly wage into a salary figure makes it easier to compare job offers, budget monthly expenses, or negotiate pay in annual terms.
The formula
weekly pay = hourly rate × hours per week
annual salary = weekly pay × 52
Worked example
You earn $25/hour and work 40 hours a week:
weekly pay = 25 × 40 = $1,000
annual salary = 1,000 × 52 = $52,000
Frequently asked questions
How is annual salary calculated from an hourly rate?
This calculator multiplies your hourly rate by your weekly hours to get a weekly wage, then multiplies that by 52 weeks to estimate an annual salary. It doesn't account for unpaid time off, so actual take-home pay may be a bit lower if you don't work all 52 weeks.
Does this include overtime pay?
No — this is a straight-line calculation using a single hourly rate and hours figure. If some of your hours are paid at an overtime rate, calculate the regular and overtime portions separately and add them together.
Is this before or after taxes?
This is a gross (pre-tax) estimate. It doesn't account for income tax, deductions, or benefits — actual take-home pay will be lower.
